Text: Daniel 7:11-13

Dear Young People,

BE ASSURED OF THE DOOM OF WICKEDNESS
Do you sometimes feel fearful and intimidated by wicked people who seem to be able to get away with all their pernicious and evil deeds? Evil seems to be so powerful at times, and if we are not careful, we might even think that evil could prevail in the world. Let us draw much encouragement from God's Word, and be assured that the Lord would never allow evil to reign in the world.

Let us study carefully what Daniel saw in his vision, concerning the powerful reigns of wicked kings.

"I watched then because of the sound
of the pompous words which the horn was speaking;
I watched till the beast was slain;
And its body destroyed and given
To the burning flame.

As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion
Taken away, yet their lives were prolonged
For a season and a time."
Daniel 7:11-12

GOD WILL SLAY THE WICKED
God will never allow the wicked to dominate the world. Those who are wicked will be slain eventually. Let us always be reminded to pray and to trust that the Lord will prevail over the wicked!

There is a very clear description of how the wicked will be destroyed. The words are unmistakable. Consider the words, "slain, destroyed, given to the burning flame". These words confirm that God will see to the extermination of the wicked.

WHO WILL TRIUMPH OVER THE WICKED?
Yes, God will use earthly powers to confront and contain the powers of wickedness. In every age where evil has arisen, God always raises people who will champion the cause of truth and righteousness.

However, there is more. Daniel's vision allowed him to see how God would one day, send Jesus back to earth to vanquish evildoers.

"I was watching in the night visions,
and behold, One like the Son of Man,
coming with the clouds of heaven!"
Daniel 7:13

Our great hope lies in the Return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
