Text: Daniel 7:15-28
Dear
Young People,
THE
DANGEROUS EXERCISE OF POWER
What is most dangerous about this kingdom that is yet future? Let us look
at what Daniel's prophecy even more closely.
"He shall
speak pompous words against the Most High,
shall persecute the saints of the Most High,
and shall intend to change times and law.
Then the saints shall be given into his hand
For a time and times and half a time."
Daniel 7:25
How should we understand this passage? This kingdom would be different
from the other past kingdoms for one special reason. This particular kingdom
would dare to attempt three things:-
1. It would blaspheme
God.
2. It would persecute
believers, here called, "The Saints of the Most High".
3. It would try
and change "times and law".
LOOKING
AT ANOTHER PROPHETIC WORD
One of the most important things to do when we come across difficult passages
in the Scripture is to take time to search for other passages in the Bible
that could shed some light on the more obscure passages. Scripture must
interpret Scripture. This is a sound approach to our understanding of
the Scriptures.
Take time to read
the Book of Revelation. You may not understand all that you read, but
if you are a careful reader, you will find that it is possible to understand
the gist, or the main thrust of the Book of Revelation. This Book is similar
to Daniel's prophecy.
THE WAR AGAINST THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH
The Book of Revelation also warns us that Satan would make war against
the saints. Let us look at these sobering words.
"And he was
given a mouth speaking great things
and blasphemies…
Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God,
To blaspheme His Name, His tabernacle, and those
Who dwell in heaven.
It was granted to him to make war with the saints
And to overcome them."
Revelations 13:5-7
Are you strong enough to cope in such tough circumstances?
Prayerfully,
Pastor
Charlie
