Text: Revelation 12

(I) WAR IN HEAVEN

“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and the angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.” Revelation 12:7-8

1. Hostility

2. Rebellion

3. Attempt to storm the gates of heaven?



(II) OUTCOME OF THE HEAVENLY WAR

“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:9

1. The Enemy

a) The great dragon

b) The serpent of old

c) The Devil

d) Satan

e) Deceiver of the whole world

f) The accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10)


2. Angels of Satan

All were cast out of the heavenly realms! (Revelation 12:9)



(III) PROCLAMATION

“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” Revelation 12:10

1. Proclamation of Victory

a) The kingdom of God has prevailed

b) The power of the Lord Jesus Christ


2. Proclamation of Defeat

For the Accuser of the brethren


3. Judgment of the Devil

He has been “cast down”



(IV) THAT WHICH LEADS TO VICTORY

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony,
and they did not love their lives to the death” Revelation 12:11

1. The blood of the lamb

2. The word of their testimony

3. They did not love their lives to the death


(V) RAGE OF THE DEVIL

1. Persecution (Revelation 12:13-15)

2. Great anger (Revelation 12:46)

3. War with the rest of offspring (Revelation 12:17)



(VI) THE TARGETS OF THE DEVIL

1. Those keeping of the law of God

2. Those who bear testimony for the Lord Jesus
