SOLEMN DECLARATIONS
1. To praise
"I will praise You with my whole heart" Psalm 138:1a
2. To praise openly
"Before the gods I will sing praises to You" Psalm 138:1b
3. To worship
"I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name" Psalm 138:2a
SOUND RATIONALE
1. Because of God's gracious manifestation:-
a) Lovingkindness
b) Truth
"For Your lovingkindness and truth" Psalm 138:2b
2. Because of God's Word
"For You have magnified Your word above all Your name" Psalm 138:2c
3. Because of answered prayer
"In the day when I cried out, You answered me" Psalm 138:3a
4. Because of imbued strength
"And made me bold with strength in my soul" Psalm 138:3b
SUPPOSED IMPACT
1. Kings of the earth to respond with praise because of God's glory
"All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD" Psalm 138:4a
"Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD" Psalm 138:4b
2. Impressed with God's word
"When they hear the words of Your mouth" Psalm 138:4
3. Impressed with the way God regards the lowly
"Though the LORD is high, yet He regards the lowly;
But the proud He knows from afar." Psalm 138:46
SPIRITUAL REVIVAL
1. Revival amidst troubles in life
"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me" Psalm 138:7a
2. Revival through assurance of God's help
"You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies;
and Your right hand shall save me" Psalm 138:7b
3. Revival through faith in God's continuing work in life
"The LORD will perfect that which concerns me;
Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever;
Do not forsake the work of Your hands" Psalm 138:8
