AN APPRECIATION OF GOD'S PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE OF MAN
Doctrine of God
1. Acknowledgment of the profound omniscience of God
a) Known
"You have searched me and known me" Psalm 139:1
"You know my sitting down and my rising up" Psalm 139:2a
b) Understand
"You understand my thought afar off" Psalm 139:2b
c) Comprehend
"You comprehend my path and my lying down" Psalm 139:3a
d) Acquainted
"And are acquainted with all my ways" Psalm 139:3b
e) Know
"But there is not a word on my tongue,
but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether" Psalm 139:4
f) Hedged
"You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me" Psalm 139:5
g) Response
"Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it" Psalm 139:6
2. Acknowledgment of the Omnipresence of God
a) Presence
"Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence? Psalm 139:7
b) Heaven/Hell
"If I ascend into heaven, You are there
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there" Psalm 139:8
c) Uttermost parts of the sea
"If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me" Psalm 139:9-10
d) Darkness and Light
"If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me.
Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You" Psalm 139:11-12
