Sunday School Ministries
We are currently in the midst of creating a curriculum of our own for all levels of our Sunday School Ministry. We hope that in so doing, our Sunday School students will be so much more equipped to handle the Word of God, to 'rightly divide the word of truth'; that the Word of God will become alive to them; that they may correctly apply it into their lives and be an encouragement and witness to those around them.
As with all our other church activities, we invite you and your family to join us:
Beginner's Sunday School (0830hrs)
7 years and below

"Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matt 19:14 Bethany believes very strongly in a children's ministry. Imparting God's Word to help a young child build faith will stand him in good stead in his later years.
"No child is too little to know that he has sinned, No child is too little to let the Saviour in." |

Junior Sunday School (0830hrs) 7-12 years
The goals of JSS are:- 1. to reach out to children with the gospel so that they may discover salvation in the Lord Jesus. 2. to help them develop a special relationship with Him. 3. to seek to mould the lives of these young ones into good Christians. |

The way to achieve these goals is through the teaching of God's Word. We believe that God can speak even to children and to sow seeds of faith in them through His Word.
We envision these children to be our next generation of leaders and members and it is absolutely vital that we pass on to them the wonderful truths that God has given to us... "that they may set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep His commandments." Psalm 78:7
Intermediate Sunday School (0830hrs)
13-16 years

Intermediate Sunday School was set up to teach the Lord's
Word to teenagers. We seek to help them go beyond mere head knowledge by
translating their Christian faith into a living reality.
The teaching of the Lord's Word is central to this ministry, but we also endeavour to be "friends" of the teens as they head toward adulthood. Being impressionable years, it is vital that we guide them to make choices based on God's Word and it is a great challenge as we not only minister to their spiritual needs but also help them discover their ministry in Bethany. "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." -1 Tim 4:12 - |
Senior Sunday School (1530hrs)
17 years and up
Bethany's Senior Sunday School (SSS) caters primarily to the Christian education of young people (16 years and above) and working adults of our Church. The SSS' motto is "To Know Christ and to Make Him Known". We seek to present believers perfect in Christ (Colossians 1:28-29).
One key characteristic of the SSS is the centrality of God's Word in our teaching ministry. We seek to help our students develop a profound love for God's Word through a systematic study of God's Word. Our Bible study programme is led by a team of dedicated Sunday School teachers, who seek to be a good role model, friend, counselor and "shepherd" to their students.
At the SSS, students learn how to develop a genuine Christian lifestyle and to grow in Christian character. As part of our teaching programme, we also place a strong emphasis on outreach and evangelism as well as support of missions work. It is our aim to teach and equip our students to be consistent and effective soul-winners for the Lord Jesus Christ and to have a heart for missions.
